Alphabet Inc’s Google is hoping an ad campaign can help prevent misinformation percolating about Ukrainian refugees who fled Russian President Vladimir Putin’s invasion from shaping public opinion.

Google is premiering a series of 90-second videos in Poland, Slovakia and the Czech Republic that will seek to educate viewers about how to avoid being manipulated, according to Beth Goldberg, the head of research at its anti-propaganda unit Jigsaw.

Online sexual exploitation of children rising

The authorities have detected an increase in cases of online sexual exploitation of children, particularly child pornography.

Deputy Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Siti Zailah Mohd Yusoff said the ministry was told that more than 100,000 IP addresses registered in Malaysia were found to have shared child pornography.

Pornhub rips anti-trafficking org as 'anti-porn zealots' following Instagram account suspension
